What is the DEXA/DXA body composition analysis?
Body composition measurement with dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) is the gold standard method to evaluate your body composition.
The DEXA uses small amounts of radiation to produce a whole picture of the body’s fat mass, non-fat mass and bone mass. In addition, the DEXA provides regional body fat results for the arms, legs, android (waist), gynoid (hips), and visceral (abdominal) fat. Visceral fat, or VAT, has been linked to metabolic disturbances, increased risk for cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.

What is Resting Metabolic Rate?
The Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) test measures how many calories your body needs at rest. Your RMR is related to your lean body mass or the fat-free parts of your body. This test will show you how many calories you are expected to burn in a day, the speed of your metabolism, and be a great start to understanding weight gain, loss, or maintenance.
The RMR test analyses your breathing over 10-minutes in a relaxed position. It is an easy, non-invasive test known as the gold-standard for determining your caloric needs.

What is a VO2 Max Test?
VO2 max (or maximal oxygen consumption) is a measure of your body’s maximum integrated capacity to extract, transport, and utilize oxygen during exercise. This test is positively correlated with both health and performance which makes it a great thing to measure and understand.
